Late Summer

The kids start school in two weeks and I feel a little torn. On one side, I am eager for them to start school to meet other kids and on the other side I know how busy our family can be when school and activities begin. This summer started out as a challenge for the kids because they were not used to spending so much time together and they tormented each other so much I thought I was going to lose my mind. But as time went on they realized that their siblings were all they had and now they disappear playing for hours with each other. Miranda and Bella camped out in my closet last night after much effort to create the perfect fort.

Aaron taught himself to swim this year and is very proud of himself. He is jumping off the diving board and swimming to the side with no problems. Elijah is fine as a spectator sitting in the sun (when we have it!!!!). It has been really rainy here this summer with temperatures in the 70's, I really hope that this is not a precursor to the winter we have ahead of us.

Josh is busy too. He is now a regular in a hockey league and he just started playing beach volleyball with his co-workers. Last night was the first volleyball game and the kids and I went to watch and it felt a little weird walking into a bar called Flattery with four kids in tow. It was fun though, almost like watching Olympic beach volleyball.

As for me, I think that I might of caught a huge break moving to NY. I was thinking of what I could do to keep busy and I planned on going back to school for my masters in Accounting in order to sit for the CPA. Well, as I looked into it further, I discovered that NY is one of the very few states that has not implemented the requirement for a masters in order to take the CPA. The requirement does change August 2009 so I have a year to get ready for the test. Still pretty hard, just a shorter road to the goal.

Our camera was broken for most of the summer so I don't have too many pictures but here are some......

Wow! The kids are "big kids" now. The baby and toddler stage went too fast... maybe not for you, Melanie...

Thank you so much for the pictures!
I'll talk with you about October..

We were all really missing the Livingstons today - so I finally had time to read your blog - I love it! It was great to see you on Monday - just wish it could've been longer!
Patrick had kindergarten orientation yesterday - still felt like Aaron and Elijah should've been there! Hope Miranda enjoyed the rest of her birthday!
